  • Why does only one exhaust pipe work on my TF?
    • because there is a valve, the EVC ( Exhaust Volume Control ) valve, fitted to the off side pipe. It was fitted to reduce noise at low revs. It was disconnected by many dealers on new TF's as part of the PDI. It can be disconnected in two ways.
      • easy way - find the valve just behind the tail pipe, you will see a pipe coming from it, pull it off, plug the end (I used a self tapping screw), and tie wrap it out of the way. With the pipe disconnected the valve is open.
      • the not so easy way - I'll let Rob Bell explain the procedure here.

  • Exhaust sound clips
  • Where can I buy a Daytona exhaust from?, or a Miltek, Bastuck, Janspeed.....
    • A Daytona can be purchased from Mike Satur, this page for a TF and this page for the F.
    • A Miltek can be purchased from Brown & Gammons.
    • An Xpower can be purchased from any Xpart outlet, or from the MG-Rover.org on-line shop, don't forget the 10% discount if your a supporter, or if your after the Janspeed version, from PTP's on-line shop. Bear in mind that there are three variations of the 'XPower' exhaust, but I believe only two types are available.
    • A Scorpion can be purchased from the MGF Centre.
    • A Pipedream/Blueflame can be purchased from Abingdon MG Parts Ltd, click here for the F, and click here for the TF system.
    • A Bastuck can be purchased from XTec-Tuning.de, I hope your German is good!!.
    • A Supersports exhaust can be purchased from MGOC Accessories. These exhausts are made by Tiger Exhausts.
    • A DTM style exhaust can be purchased from Moss Europe Ltd.
    • A Phoenix system can be purchased direct from Phoenix Performance Exhausts Ltd, or from TR Bitz, don't let the TR's fool you!!. Its also possible that Techspeed can supply them as well.
    • Another option is a Peco system, these are made to order with a choice of tail pipes.
    • There is also the Trevor Taylor TT Extreme system, but since this is a limited production system, its not easy to get one. Of the two production runs there has been, I've only ever seen one for sale. And boy are they loud !!!, I've been in Steve White's TF which has one fitted, it sounds fantastic, but I couldn't live with it on a daily basis. So if you want one, keep your eyes on the various forum's for sale sections. Check out the TT Exhausts web site for further information.
